i will be receiving a injury settlement very soon and i need to start a life for myself. im 25 and still live at my parents house because ive been in a wheelchair for the past 2 years. after my lawyer takes his cut i should have about 200k, i know everybody says to through it all on a house so i have no mortgage but i want more than that i wanna make it grow to something more. i have an artificial knee and my doc dosent want me to do physical labor like i used to. i wasent ever very book smart but i was a hell of a worker now i need to find somthing else to do to build wealth. im not a sucker but wish to here all ideas. investing? real estate?

she has her witnesses and i have mine but my lawyer has advised me to not go in and give my statement without him. on monday we are going and so are all my witnesses. but the detective handling our case told me that she had a cut onrss her head and had to go to the hospital and that the doctors removed glass from her injury,but i did not have a bottle in my hand and didnt hit her with abottle at all but she is telling the detective that i did so thats where we are at in the case but i didnt hit her with anything other than my hands after she started attacking me first

I have a personal injury attorney who I dont want anymore due to their not doing anthing really…I dont owe them money, but I have a new lawyer, that I want to represent me and i need to get rid of the other ones.. I was the one who did the leg work on this and got all the information..but when i told them I was not wanting them to pursue this … they finally told me they actually talked to the other person and company who hit me and now he says they might be willing to settle …and if not my attorney would go after my insurance for uninsured motorist….( found out this company didnt have insurance due to non payment )….problem there I was hit not my vehicle me…I wasnt even near my car…..its all confusing..and the other lawyer is doing more than this one after two weeks

Motor Vehicle Accident With Injury.. Opinions?

Ok so I have been in accidents before but never resulting in injury. So this old lady pulls out in front of me turning left and I hit her pretty much head on (hitting the drives side of her car) at about 25mph. So I end up finding out that I have potentially tore my rotator cuff, the wreck was no question according to the cop her fault so I have filed my ER visit under her insurance, now that i’ve folled up with my Dr. she has set up an MRI appt. and after that if it is the case I will have surgery then go throw physical therapy…
The damage to my car is almost minimum compared to all this, its being fixed now by her insurances company so what should I do once the car is fixed but i’m still unsure of what is going to happen with my MRI results.
Should I get a lawyer, or stick to keeping in contact with just my insurance company and letting them control talking to the ladies insurance? Any opinions, suggestions greatly appericated!

Two years ago we were offered to settle with an insurance company over a personal injury car accident and denied their offer and hired a lawyer.
Ever since he took the case, he has failed to ever call us to keep us updated or return our calls. They have lost numerous pages of paperwork and always mail us documents requesting the information again. We have played phone tag for the last 2 years with his assistant, we have never been able to talk to him.
Two years later he calls and tells us he is going after a certain amount, but in the end we would pocket less than what the insurance company low balled us with.

I want to fire this lawyer but people have told me to set up an appointment to go over paperwork. What documents am I looking for and what should I expect to see? With this meeting I want to make sure this lazy lawyer did his job before I file a claim with the state to fire him and avoid paying his fees. Contract has been signed and statue of limitation in NC is 3 years.
Please help!!

Unhappy With Compensation Lawyer ???

After having a whiplash injury from the car accident in September, I’ve had a lawyer company dealing with it, provided through my fully-comprehensive insurance by my car insurance provider, as a part of my policy.
I’m getting the impression that this lawyer seems to be “scrutinise” me, rather than HELPING me & pointing me in the right direction as what to do, etc. in order to maximise the financial gain from the insurance company of other driver.
Is it normal that such lawyer DO NOT help their client & they’re ONLY interested in getting the case sorted out by whatsoever amount they manage to get, as a compensation, from the insurance company of other driver ??? If I’m NOT happy with her now OR not happy with the compensation amount she manage to get off the other insurance company’s provider, is there an option THEN to find ANOTHER lawyer (perhaps, on “no win, no fee” basis) & let this new laywer redo the entire compensation process, AGAIN ???

I am trying to file a dog bite claim against my neighbors insurance, but I do not think he is responding truthfully about his insurance policy. He denies having insurance that has personal liability. He sent a copy of his mortgage protection coverage to our lawyer and claims that is the only coverage he has. He still has a mortgage, so he must have homeowners. How can we force it out of him? He has not provided proof of insurance or lack of from the time of the injury. If he truly does not have insurance, we are going to have to sue him because the medical bills are already into the tens of thousands. Please help.
