Lawyer Dropped My Case. Now I Need A Good Lawyer….long Island Ny?

I was at the wrong place at wrong time. My head was slashed with an open beer bottle from a guy..He was drunk and was 17 at the time. Went to police station, filed a report, detective took pictures…then to the er for stitches. I have a scar. This was about a year ago… I was 18 female at the time this happened. my lawyer wanted to sue the defendant for accidentally injury. The DA asked me to go to court and testify against the defendant. I didn’t want to do anything without my lawyer stating it was ok.. When I called my lawyers office…the legal assistant said it was fine to testify. so I did. then my lawyer dropped me stating my stories didn’t match. (I guess no money out of the case) My question is I still have a scar. this lawyer office treated me like I was the one who hurt someone. They wouldn’t return my phone calls, gave me bad advice, and this guy is walking around free. What do I do? The lawyer hangs up on me when I ask questions. I need advice!!! and a new lawyer. can I still sue this person who slashed my forehead?

I am pleading NOT GUILTY and need a good Defense Lawyer for a DUI that has reasonable rates and a good track record, any suggestions?
Due to a recent Injury I have been out of work, so I’m extremely LOW INCOME right now and my disability income has recently run out! I was assigned a Public Defender but unfortunately it did not feel like they were working in my best interest?

These lawyers claim to be good hearted individuals who are only interested in pursuing justice. To prove their commitment, they are willing to work for free until a favorable settlement is achieved. What cash poor accident victim could refuse such a noble proposition?
Please consider: Nobody works for free.
These lawyers are able to cherry pick their cases based upon how lucrative their practices are. No competent lawyer will accept a personal injury case unless they are sure of a settlement. Also consider that the lawyer will typically receive 60% of the settlement plus their expenses (taken off of the top). The kindly lawyer will end up receiving upwards of 70% of the settlement, leaving a miserable ~30% for the person who actually was injured (talk about adding insult to injury).
If you doubt me, then just try to hire a personal injury attorney on a hourly basis. They make so much more by working on “CONTINGENCY” that you won’t have any takers.

I was seriously injured in an auto accident and have no personal ins. The dr.’s will not do 3rd. party billing & bill the auto ins. directly. They want me to pay for all care up front. The specialists want $500.00-$750.00 just for a consultation. I am in constant severe pain & need to get med. care fast but no one will help & the dr.’s won’t let me make payments! Go figure. If anyone knows anything that can help or a good lawyer that can help please let me know.

My father got into a really severe accident in work, and his injurys are very severe also, but the lawyer says he can only get him less than 8,000,,,only beacuse he has no broken bones. He also waited more than 2 years and he still hasnt brought my father to court. My father also went through 6 months of physical therypy,, and left with really large sacrs on his arm,,and his ear. The company however has been warned to changed the saftey of the machines many times before,, as soon as my father got injuried, they fix that problem right away. My father still today has very much pain in his arm. Not only do i think the accedient left just phyical scars, but also emtion sars. I really do no think its fair beacuse he has been working there for a really long time (more than 10 years). i believe he can get more than 8,000,,if any one can please help me, i would appericate it
